Festival Wins Gold!
The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) paid tribute to the Des Moines Arts Festival® presented by Nationwide on October 1, 2018 during the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Ceremony held at the IFEA’s 63rd Annual Convention, Expo & Retreat, in San Diego, California, where they presented the Festival with the Gold Grand Pinnacle Award for Best Festival in the World. 1,189 artists applied to exhibit at the 2019 Des Moines Arts Festival. The annual jury process begins on Tuesday, February 5 with the Jury Preview. The public is invited to this open jury event when all 1,189 applicants will be viewed. The event begins at 6 p.m. and is approximately four hours. Each applying artist's set of six images are projected on large screens for 10-second intervals. Come see the jury process unfold in the Conference Center of the Greater Des Moines Partnership's offices located at 700 Locust Street in downtown Des Moines.
