Linda has been creating figurative clay sculptures for the past 8 years after many years as an educator with the Des Moines Public Schools supporting beginning readers. She began making objects in the sand box as a 3 year old and first got her fingers on clay when she and her brothers found clay on the sides of a nearby creak. 40 years later she put her hands in clay again at a studio in the Des Moines area. She graduated from Graceland University with a minor in art and has since worked with well known figurative clay artists at places such as Archie Bray Clay Center, Anderson Ranch and Santa Fe. Her work is shown locally and throughout the midwest in Chicago, Minneapolis, Dubuque, Kansas City, Michigan as well as Park City, Utah. Her work has been selected and shown at nationally juried exhibitions in Kansas City, Virginia, Chicago, Palm Beach, and many other settings.
