I am a professional artist. I embarked on my career at age 14 when I enrolled in the Rosenthal School of Art in my hometown of Riga, Latvia. Afterwards I continued on and earned a Master degree in printmaking from the Latvian Academy of Arts and a Masters degree in art pedagogy from the Latvian State University. All of my prints are hand printed on the premises using traditional printmaking methods that were first used over 400 years. I primarily work with intaglio print techniques on copper and zinc plates. The intaglio techniques that I commonly use are: etchings, aquatint, mezzotint, drypoint and engraving. My subject matter originates from my memory and my imagination.
