As an artist I am deeply committed to making beautiful and resolved things. For 20 years this work involved large-scale public sculptures, ephemeral installations, and now includes bronze objects that create wonder in the palm of a hand. Each of these sculptures transforms what is common and known into something unique and deeply resonate, and is spawned by a love of elemental materials and archetypal forms. My larger projects have been sponsored by the by the National Park Service, the cities of Boston and Cambridge MA and various regional museums, art galleries and environmental organizations (Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art, the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Tower Hill Botanic Garden, Scenic Hudson Inc.) My work in craft has received significant recognition with Awards of Excellence from the Society of Arts and Crafts (Boston, MA 2011), Bellevue Art Museum (Bellevue, WA 2015) and Best of show at Des Moines Art Festival (Des Moines, Iowa 2017). I live, work and keep bees in Somerville, MA.
