Christopher Brown grew up exploring upstate New York and he has been drawing that landscape ever since. He graduated with a BFA in printmaking and Drawing from SUNY Purchase. His passion for nature is expressed in his drawings. Using only a graphite pencil he creates marks which are painterly in style. Bold darks combined with soft lights and marks that are scratched smudged and sanded give each drawing a life of its own. "Over 200,000 marks are made in a typical drawing the size of 30 x 60 inches. And I draw rather quickly" Christopher says. He has a goal of 100 drawings this year. Barns are his favorite things to draw along with trees. He combines inspiration from the East to the West which can be seen in his work. He has been traveling to Art Festivals and enjoys meeting collectors in person. He currently lives and works out west in Hailey Idaho.
