The Festival is located in Western Gateway; on Grand Ave. and Locust St. between 10th St. to the East and 16th St. to the West in downtown Des Moines, Iowa. For a Google Maps location, plug in 1407 Locust St.
How to Get to the Festival
So many options! You can walk, ride your bike, take DART, fly in your Airpac, or drive.
We highly recommend approaching the Festival site from the North (MLK, Jr. Parkway)
From the West
Take I235 E to the MLK Blvd. exit. Turn right, continue on MLK over Locust St. and under Grand Ave. bridge. Left on MLK Blvd. To park in the Nationwide Garage, turn left onto SW 11th St, continue to Walnut St. Turn right on Walnut St. The entrance is on the corner of Walnut St. and 12th St.
From the East
Take I235 E to the MLK Blvd. exit. Turn left, continue on MLK over Locust St. and under Grand Ave. bridge. Left on MLK Blvd. To park in the Nationwide Garage, turn left onto SW 11th St, continue to Walnut St. Turn right on Walnut St. The entrance is on the corner of Walnut St. and 12th St.
Bypass the traffic and ride your bike. We have a complimentary Bike Valet thanks to our friends at Friends of Central Iowa Trails. The Bike Valet is located at the corner of 15th and Locust streets.
Ride the bus! There are plenty of routes leading you into and out of downtown. The D-Line will also be running.
Routes 11, 60, 98, 99 and D-Line.

Bypass finding a parking spot by valet parking your car at 13th and Walnut for $10/vehicle.
Locust St. between 17th - 10th St will close on Wednesday, June 20 at 9 a.m. through Monday, June 24 at 6 a.m. Heaviest traffic on Locust will be at rush hour.
Grand Ave. between 16th and 10th St. will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday through Monday, June 25 at 6 a.m. Access to the Downtown Library parking garage will be maintained.
Cross streets (12th, 13th, 15th) will be closed at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20.
All streets will reopen on Monday, June 25 at 6 a.m.
Complimentary parking is available in the Nationwide garage after 3:30 p.m. on Friday through the weekend.
Designated handicap parking is located on Walnut St., south of the Festival grounds, outside the 12th and Walnut entrance. Parking is limited and on a first-come, first served basis.

Money, Money, Money.
There are multiple ATM locations throughout the site. In addition, the Arts Festival Shops and all beverage stations accept credit cards. Most artists accept credit cards as well.
